Stanley Hamilton named FICOM chair

The Financial Institutions Commission of British Columbia has appointed Stanley Hamilton as chair of the provincial regulatory body.

Hamilton, an emeritus professor at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, replaces Helen del Val, who had served as commission chair since July 2011 and retired last November.

A member of the commission since December 2014, his research interests include real estate investment and valuation, as well as pension fund investments and management.

The commission is responsible for administering six statutes that regulate the pension, mortgage broker and financial services sectors in British Columbia.
