The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is appointing Bruce Crane as executive managing director and head of Asia-Pacific, effective immediately.

He will lead investment activities and portfolio management across the Ontario Teachers’ offices in Hong Kong, Mumbai and Singapore. Crane joined the pension fund in 2020 as its first employee in the Singapore office. In the new role, he succeeds Ben Chan, who retired earlier this month.

“Bruce has done an outstanding job over the last three years building our [infrastructure and natural resources] portfolio and team in the region,” said Ziad Hindo, chief investment officer at the Ontario Teachers’, in a press release. “His extensive global experience, exceptional knowledge of the APAC region and the strong relationships he has cultivated both inside and outside the plan make him a natural choice for this expanded role.”
