The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is appointing Vincent Delisle as head of liquid markets, effective Aug 3., 2020.

He began his career as a securities trader in the 1990s with investment firm Eterna Financial Group and from there became a portfolio strategist with Desjardins Securities Inc. until 2004.

After that, he spent 14 years as director of equity research for Quebec and managing director of portfolio and quantitative strategy in the capital markets division at Scotiabank. Delisle’s most recent position before joining the Caisse was as co-chief investment officer at Hexavest Inc.

In his new role, he’ll lead the Caisse’s equity and fixed income teams. He’ll also co-lead the investment funds and external management team and the global research team with Macky Tall, the Caisse’s head of real assets and private equity.

“Vincent Delisle has a global view of international equity markets and of the economy, proven experience in portfolio construction and a solid investment track record,” said Charles Emond, president and chief executive officer of the Caisse, in a press release. “He is skilled at identifying deep market trends, implementing value-creating strategies and then transforming them into rigorous and efficient decision-making processes.”
